Nancy Dowling has been employed at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts for the past five years as the sole registered dietician on staff accepting referrals from over 200 nurses from six different area in the Health and Medical Management division of the company. Telephonic nutrition counseling with members at BCBSMA range from Care Congeries with a focus on wellness to Care Management and High Cost claimants. Nancy talks with Blue Cross members around the ountry. In 2015, Nancy was chosen to be included as one of the 12 providers that offered TELEHEALTH under the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts pilot program called WELL CONNECTION. Nancy has been a registered dietitian in the greater Boston area and member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics for more than 36 years with a variety of experiences including 10 years as outpatient nutrition director at Carney Hospital in Dorchester, 7 years as a staff writer and photo stylist for the Boston Sunday Herald and 8 years at the Supervisor at the Expanded Food and Nutrition Program in Norfolk County; a part of Cooperative Extension. In addition, Nancy has worked both as a consultant and part time employee at National Fire Protection Association in Quincy and has led nutrition discussions/workshops at Milton Academy, Bank of Boston, South Shore YMCA and others. Nancy is a graduate of Syracuse University and Framingham State College and lives in Canton with her husband of 37 years.
