Position Description

OUTCOME: Responsible for the operation of Patient Food Services under the supervision of the Director. Performs a variety of duties including the planning and supervision of patient food assembly and service, scheduling, hiring, and training of patient food service personnel. Ensures patient satisfaction and good public relations through the safe and efficient use of resources.

Desired Qualifications


1. A Bachelors Degree in Nutrition, Food Services, or Dietetic field of study and ADA registration is preferred.
2. Three plus years of experience as a Patient Services Manager.
3. Has knowledge of special diets and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
4. Possesses a comprehensive knowledge of safe, sanitary food handling procedures, preparation methods, and supervision.
5. If not already ServSafe certified, it is expected that the Patient Services Manager become ceretified within 6 months from acceptance of this position.
6. Must possess good communication skills, both oral and written

1. Sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours.
2. Adheres to a smoke free working environment.
3. Subject to on-call hours in the event of emergency, weather or otherwise.
4. Works beyond normal working hours, on weekends and holidays and in other positions temporarily, when necessary.
5. Subject to frequent interruptions.
6. Subject to falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc. throughout the work day.
7. Performance of position will involve exposure to commercial cleaning products.
