http://www.foodsolutionsne.org/continuing-professional-education-dietetics-professionals Racial and social injustice impacts our food system whether we see it or not. The Food Solutions New England, 21-Day Racial Equity Habit Building Challenge is designed to create dedicated time and space to build more effective social justice habits, particularly those dealing with issues of race, power, privilege, and leadership with the goal of helping participants understand how this happens, provides an opportunity to connect with one another, as well as identify ways to dismantle racism and become better leaders for a more just, equitable food system. You can check out this webinar to get a more robust overview of the challenge. The challenge begins Monday April 1 and will continue through April 21, 2019, however, of special interest to dietetics and nutrition professionals are a select group of readings that have been identified for their relevance to our food and nutrition work. These readings, coupled with a short survey, have been submitted to CDR for 5 free continuing professional education hours. Learn more about this here. So, whether you decide to participate in the general challenge, or concentrate on the readings for continuing education, or do both, please consider this opportunity for you, your families, or your students. There is even a new Discussion Guide that can help further this conversation. (Please note: that the readings have not changed since last year. Those who have previously claimed CEUs for this opportunity will not be able to claim them again. However, readings and resources associated with the 21 Day Racial Equity Challenge have changed, and so learnings can be further enriched by participating in the general challenge.) The CPE opportunity was developed by dietetic members of the University of New Hampshire’s Sustainability Institute’s, Food Solutions New England, 21-Day Racial Equity Habit Building Challenge:
