About the Massachusetts Student Dietetic Association

The Massachusetts Student Dietetic Association (MSDA) is for students studying dietetics, nutrition, food science, food technology and health related professions. Membership is for American Dietetic Association (ADA) student members studying in Massachusetts including junior, senior, post-baccalaureate, graduate students and dietetic interns, as well as any registered dietitians who still have Massachusetts Dietetic Association (MDA) student member status.

The organization meets monthly and is led by elected officers. The association is an approved student organization in Massachusetts and benefits from student activity regulations. Each year the association determines activities which would be of interest to the members. Constitution and bylaws have been developed by the MSDA and serve as guiding elements to the organization. The MSDA membership is a benefit of belonging to MDA and ADA. MDA supports MSDA with limited funding to cover costs of meetings, supplies, and activities. The association also determines and organizes fundraising activities as needed to support its activities.

Each fall, the MSDA hosts an annual Dietetic Internship Selection Workshop where nutrition educators and internship directors/coordinators introduce students to the dietetic internship application process.  The workshop includes booths where students can personally introduce themselves to the internship directors/coordinators from universities and hospitals around the Boston area. Some programs outside of the state are also represented.
