Do You Want to Make a Difference for Your Profession and Your Community?

The MDA Public Policy Committee is looking for members who would like to make a difference to increase the visibility of our members and association in the public policy arena. This will not only help you professionally, but also the citizens of Massachusetts, who could benefit from progressive state and national nutrition policy and legislation.

We are looking for enthusiastic members to join the MDA Public Policy Committee. In exchange we will mentor you, including helping you to expand your skills, which just might help you move up the ladder either professionally or in MDA.

Your interest and/or skills in just one of these areas can help MDA to position itself in a more visible and dynamic way.  They include:

  • reimbursement for Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT)
  • licensure in MA
  • public health
  • wellness/health promotion
  • public relations

If you have an interest in any of these areas and are willing to meet via conference up to six times a year, we need you! MDA is currently focused on child nutrition, school nutrition and positioning of the RD as the credible provider of MNT.

If you are interested in any of these topics or have interest/skills in the areas above, please contact José Wendel (publicpolicy@eatrightma.org).
